How do you know if your home has mold growth in the crawl space?

Here in Tampa, one thing that is really crucial for people to think with is that during the rainy season, mold growth in crawl spaces can occur on the bottom of the home.

If your home has space between the ground and subfloor, like a crawl space, then that hot humid air can actually come up and establish mold growth, such as Penicillium and Aspergillus, on the bottom planks.

Why is this an issue though? It’s just the bottom of the home. You don’t even see it.

Well, mold releases microscopic particles in the form of a gas called Mycotoxins. Mycotoxins create adverse physical reactions such as headaches, brain fog, and respiratory issues and in some cases can impact the central nervous system to name a few.

Typically, from mold growth, there’s a musty smell that can actually intrude into the home due to the mycotoxins entering into the building envelope. You know when you hear, “Oh it’s just an old Florida smell!” NO – that’s actually a musty smell and if it’s musty that means mold.

If you think your crawl space has mold, call us here at Mold Zero to set up a free in-home evaluation.

You have mold problems. You’re on a mission to hunt down any and all mold that’s infesting your home. So it’s time to get a hammer and rip open those walls, right?

Wrong!

Mold Zero revolutionizes the way mold remediation gets done.

Our patented technology allows for stress free mold removal in your home. Forget old remediation methods that require demolition and reconstruction. With dry fog technology, your mold problems can be solved quickly and affordably.

The first step in our two-step system is a fog called InstaPURE.

InstaPURE is a powerful disinfectant that recognizes mold spores throughout your home and destroys them. By turning mold spores into inert matter, your family can breathe a healthy sigh of relief knowing that the mold in your home is gone. InstaPURE is so strong disinfectant that it will disinfect any surface it touches.

EverPURE is the second application in our mold remediation system.

InstaPURE can disinfect virtually any home, office or building, but what happens when new bacteria and viruses enter the premises? EverPURE is the answer! EverPURE provides an EPA verified 90 days of protection once it is applied.

This anti-microbial leaves no residue but sits on your keyboard, door knobs, and every other surface of your home waiting for the next bacteria or virus looking for a place to land. When any bacteria or viruses tries to land on a surface of your home, EverPURE destroys the cell on contact.

Both EverPURE and InsaPURE are EPA approved in all 50 States.

So before you go tearing apart your house to eradicate any mold, contact us to schedule a free on-site consultation with your local Mold Zero representative.

Health Issues Linked to Mold Exposure

Health Issues and Mold Exposure. At the forefront of this company, Mold Zero isn’t about cleaning the home for aesthetic or resale values, we are about family health and safety first. After experiencing our own health scare with toxic molds, we founded this company as an easier, quicker, and above all safer method of mold removal.

What is Mold?

Molds are various types of fungi that grow in filaments and reproduce by forming spores. The term mildew is often used to refer to certain types of mold, particularly indoor mold with a white/grayish color or mold growing in shower stalls and bathrooms.

Molds produce irritating substances that may act as allergens in sensitive individuals. Some molds even produce toxic substances known as mycotoxins, which can have detrimental health risks.

Allergic reactions are the most common health effect of mold, which may happen immediately or develop after a period of time following exposure.

Both growing mold and mold spores may lead to allergic reactions.

Symptoms and signs of mold allergy include:

  • sneezing
  • runny nose
  • coughing
  • wheezing
  • watery eyes
  • itchy eyes
  • redness in the eyes
  • skin irritation or rash

The Black Mold

The “black mold” Stachybotrys (as well as a few other types) produces toxins known as mycotoxins that can cause irritation of the skin and airways in susceptible individuals.

Symptoms of severe reactions include fever and difficulty breathing. People with compromised immune systems or those with chronic lung disease can develop serious infections in their lungs due to mold infestation.

In 2004, the Institute of Medicine (IOM) found sufficient evidence to link indoor exposure to mold with upper respiratory tract symptoms, coughing and wheezing in otherwise healthy people.

Mold was also linked to the worsening of asthma symptoms in people who have asthma. Additionally, mold was reported to have a connection with hypersensitivity pneumonitis in individuals susceptible to this immunologic condition.

This uncommon disease is similar to pneumonia and can develop in susceptible individuals after brief or prolonged exposure to mold.

Our remediation and disinfection services aren’t just for mold—they also target viruses and bacteria. Our technology is safe, eco-friendly and hassle-free.

How do you fight a mold infestation?

Our patented dry fog technology is more efficient than any other mold removal system around. We offer a non-toxic, eco-friendly, two-step removal system that is both affordable and hassle-free. So if you’re experiencing any of these symptoms and think that mold might be the culprit, contact us today to schedule a consultation with a Mold Zero representative.
